Nearly 1/2 of remaining ballots from Dem stronghold of King County...largely from Seattle.
I just came across this article from the Seattle Times: Seattle Times stating there is 342,000 ballots in King County (emcompasses the ultra liberal City of Seattle) plus additional 5,000 ballots that arrived this morning. An estimated 700,000 are left to be counted statewide.
In addition, when one looks at the breakdown of the precincts counted for each of the Washington state congressional districts that include King County, the lion's share of the remaining King County ballots should be coming from its most Democratic dominated and most liberal district...the 7th Congressional District which encompasses mostly the City of Seattle.
Remaining King County Ballots (350,000): where are they coming?
7th District - encompasses all of Seattle (voted 85% Obama in '08 & 81% for Dem Congressman in '10)--- only 56% of precincts counted!
1st District - Seattle suburbs north & east (voted 62% Obama in '08 & 57% for Dem Congressman in '10) --- 66% of precincts reported
2nd District - emcomposses tiny portion of King County (voted 56% Obama in '08 & 50%, so far, for Dem Congressaman in '10) - 71% of precincts reported.
8th District - Seattle suburbs to the East (voted 57% Obama in '08 & 54% for Repub. Congressman in '10)
9th District - Seattle & Tacoma suburbs (voted 59% Obama in '08 & 54% for Dem Congressman ub '10). 77% of precincts counted.
All five of the congressional districts that include King County voted Obama in 2008 and and as of this moment 4 out of 5 of those districts, have voted for a Democratic congressman (the Dem in the 2nd District has the narrowest of leads) in 2010.
Currently Murray enjoys a 27,000 vote lead statewide. Based on these indicators, especially the fact that the most undercounted area so far in the in the county is 7th District (Seattle), I believe the 350,000 (out of the 700,000 statewide) remaining votes from King County, will make it extremely difficult for Rossi to make up that 27,000 vote deficit he has.
Keep your fingers crossed!
