I did a search on diaries written the last two days about making Dr. Dean chair of the DNC once again... but no one addressed my question... a question which may seem naïve to many of you but I'm of the "There are no stupid questions unless you are asking about Palin's latest tweet" school of thought.
Yes, Howard Dean made that idiotic stand on the Muslim community center in NYC (aka "Ground Zero Mosque").
But... damn if there wasn't a lot of energy in the netroots and grassroots (from what I could comprehend) when he was leading the party. Did I perceive that wrong?
Since whats-his-name (Kaine? Who? Are you sure, I can't recall? ;-) took the reins, it seems like no one has the reins! Party activity appeared to take a big step back to the 80s.
Keep in mind I'm writing this from the viewpoint of a person who always voted and encouraged others to learn about issues and do so as well, but never dipped a toe into the pool of political action until being sucked into the vortex of the Great Orange Satan six years ago. (Wow, that seems like another time now...)
I missed the Primary wars waged here by a few months when I joined, so I don't have that in my background, for good or ill.
So, all you ultra-informed political junkies, all you long-time Deaniacs, all you geeks immersed in the minutiae of process, do you think it's an unrealistic goal to make a conceerted (and quick) push to put Howard Dean back in charge of the DNC?
Has he said "No way, no how" at some point and I missed it?
