I have my opinions on Keith Olbermann. I'm not his biggest fan, and I rarely watch his show (mostly because I don't have cable, but I digress).
Yet MSNBC's decision to suspend him is absolute bullshit.
Bullshit in its purest form.
The worst example of bullshit since, well, MSNBC removed Olbermann and Chris Matthews from covering the 2008 election results because they were "too opinionated" (excuse me, but -- aren't they pundits? Weren't they supposed to be opinionated?)
MSNBC can't have it both ways. It can't hire liberal commentators like Matthews, Olbermann, and Rachel Maddow, and get outraged when they support Democrats. I mean, News Corp. donated millions of dollars to Republicans this year. Glenn Beck appeared at rallies with conservative megastars he helped promote on his show.
Why can't a liberal pundit donate his own money to political candidates he supports?
Progressives and fair-minded people everywhere are responsible for boosting MSNBC's ratings over the years. Five years ago, they were a joke. It's people like Olbermann that caused MSNBC to actually be competitive against Fox News and the unchecked raging lunatics they hire.
Progressives need to boycott MSNBC over this.

Don't visit their website.
Don't watch their network programming.
Make MSNBC realize how much we matter. Make them realize how much Olbermann matters to their network.
Otherwise... what's to stop execs from, say, suspending Maddow for merely calling out a Republican on her show?
