Hai, Y'all!
I posted a form of this diary on Sunday, not knowing if anyone would be interested in having a way to patronize Kossacks who sell their creations online, or if those creative Kossacks would want to be included in the proposed First Annual Kos Katalogue. (Or, as Patric Juillet suggests, KosMart. Heh.)
The response was huge and positive, so once again I'm looking for your sites if you'd like them posted in a future diary. If you know about another Kossack's site, track them down and ask them if they want to be listed in the First Annual Kos Katalogue. Tell them to hustle over to this diary and post a comment with their link and a brief description of what they're selling.
If you signed up on Sunday, please don't sign up again.
Once again here are teh rules:
Don't post someone else's site. It won't go into the Katalogue. There are people who prefer not to mix business with pleasure politics.
If YOU have a site you'd like to share, post a comment with your link and a brief description of what you sell.
Please don't tell me about "so and so" who has a "wonderful site" and ask me to track them down. I'm not soliciting business here! If you can find them and the diary has disappeared, they can do a tag search for "Kos Katalogue" or email their info to me before the weekend.
If you post your website, make sure I have your email address. Post it in your profile or send it to me.
What's this "Katalogue" you speak of, Nurse Kelley?
The concept is to collect your links and BRIEF descriptions in one large diary that can be bookmarked for use when we do our holiday shopping. There won't be photos or videos in it; I want people to be able to open it easily wherever they are - work, smart phone, ipad with fading battery, whatever.
How else can I find the Kos Katalogue?
You can do a tag search; I'll remove the Kos Katalogue tag from these first two diaries when the finished product goes up. I'd also like to suggest that buyers and sellers change their sig lines until the holidays are over, posting a link to the Kos Katalogue.
What if I want to be listed, but I don't have a website?
Help is at hand! Our own webranding says it's so simple even Nurse Kelley could set up a site in minutes. Either read this diary or plan to attend a webclass webranding is going to host Monday (11/15) at 8 PM ET. You'll be able to see his desktop and watch in real time as he demonstrates the steps. For more information, watch for Tommy in today's comments oremail him.
Is this the best you can do? Seems kinda lame.
Based on the response to Sunday's diary, there's a huge interest in having something much more expansive, like a website with tabs for goods and services and job postings and you-name-it-kossacks-want-it.
I'm sorry. I don't have the skills or time or computer power to do something like that. My intent is to do a "quick and dirty", get something together so our creative members can sell their goods during the holiday season. If anyone wants to take this and run with it, you do so with my blessing.
In the meantime, look for the First Annual Kos Katalogue next weekend. Don't shop at WalMart; shop at KosMart!
