Last night, the American Spectator— a right-wing magazine known for its role in the “Arkansas Project,” a well-funded effort to invent stories with the goal of eventually impeaching President Clinton — held its annual gala fundraising event.
Our country has been reordered. Soulless, immortal corporations, thanks to the right wing activist Supreme Court Justices are now blatantly rubbing our noses in their odious piles of power.
Commentary below that begins with the SCOTUS Oath and the US Constitution's definition of treason.
WOW! Just WOW!
It's no secret that Supreme Court Judges have leanings towards a a political ideology. They are human and they are citizens.
BUT, their leanings, under oath, are supposed to be shed as they walk up the stairs to enter the Supreme Court, and to be non-existent once they don the robes to do their job of upholding the US Constitution.
The Oath:
Supreme Court Justices (Judicial Branch)
According to Title 28, Chapter I, Part 453 of the United States Code, each Supreme Court Justice takes the following oath:
"I, [NAME], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as [TITLE] under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God.''
Apparently, the Code of Conduct for United States Judgesdoesn't apply to Supreme Court Judges. But that it did. Why doesn't it?
Canon 1: A Judge Should Uphold the Integrity and Independence of the Judiciary
Canon 2: A Judge Should Avoid Impropriety and the Appearance of Impropriety in All Activities
Canon 3: A Judge Should Perform the Duties of the Office Fairly, Impartially and Diligently
Canon 4: A Judge May Engage in Extrajudicial Activities That Are Consistent with the Obligations of Judicial Office
Canon 5: A Judge Should Refrain from Political Activity
But our conservative Supreme Court Justices seem to be quite actively involved with even the most powerful right group in the country who meet twice annually in their secret planning meetings: The Koch Brothers
Secretive Republican Donors Are Planning Ahead
By KATE ZERNIKE
Published: October 19, 2010
A secretive network of Republican donors is heading to the Palm Springs area for a long weekend in January, but it will not be to relax after a hard-fought election — it will be to plan for the next one...
Charles Koch, whose wealth Forbes magazine calculates at about $21.5 billion, argues in his letter that “prosperity is under attack by the current administration and many of our elected officials.” ...
To encourage new participants, Mr. Koch offers to waive the $1,500 registration fee. And he notes that previous guests have included Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas of the Supreme Court, Gov. Haley Barbour and Gov. Bobby Jindal, Senators Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn, and Representatives Mike Pence, Tom Price and Paul D. Ryan.
And it looks like it paid off. One wonders how many of these secret planning meetings it took to craft the path to the egregious passing of
Citizens United by our activist Supreme Court Justices?
In this diary, you will find the link to Stevens' dissent, as well as a history for impeachment of judges. I highly recommend reading Justice Stevens dissent for Citizen's United.

COMMENTARY:
TREASON:
The Constitution states:
Section 3 - Treason Note
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.
So, who is the United States? Is it not the people? Is it not the rivers, lakes, mountains, shores, and plains? Is it not the natural resources? Is it not all the creatures who maintain order of the natural world?
Who will argue that the United States, and the planet for that matter, has not had war levied against them by the Corporations?
Who will argue that Corporations are not the enemies of the people, their resources, and the natural world?
Who will argue that the Supreme Court Justices have not given aid and comfort to Corporations over the years?
And who will argue that our present Supreme Court Justices are not guilty of treason by ruling that soulless, immortal corporations are people and, therefore, free to spend unlimited amounts of money to sway elections via the recent Citizens United ruling.
It should be named Corporations United.
Who? Corporations and their paid for puppets, that's who. And if all are paid for by the corporations via political contributions, who isn't guilty of treason?
What does a citizenry do when all the power cards are stacked against them?
Sit idly by and watch? Believe the political process, as it now stands, will provide us with the power we need?
I promise you, if we do not become uber, meta organized with involvement in every nook and cranny of America, meeting weekly, monthly and daily reaching out in order to educate the people in our neighborhood, we will have lost our democracy if we haven't already.
For me, it is apparent that our world has been re-ordered.
Corporations, those soulless, immortal beings, can now pour billions of dollars into our democratic process. Although they may not win every election, the have forever to keep the pressure on. Their billions can mesmerize the voters to think they are voting for "freedom and prosperity" when, in fact, they are voting for unconstrained behavior by the soulless, immortal corporations who care nothing about them or the planet.
If the recent housing crisis is used as an example, soulless, immortal corporations will remain free to plunder regardless of their behavior. Sure, they will pay fines. And once in a while one of their CEOs will get a jail sentence. But so what? The soulless, immortal corportation will just keep going unhindered by a few irritants along the way.
UNLESS and UNTIL the laws are either applied and/or changed in ways that risk the actual mortality OF the corporation.
Sadly, this hasn't been and is not the case.
The recent Federal bailout of the Too Big To Fail banks, the very kingpins of the economic devastation of our country, makes the point quite clear:
Corporations are the leaders of our New World Order, ordered by their priorities and profit schemes, and the hell with us and the planet.
So, what can we do about it when Congress in on the side of Corporations and the Supreme Court is on the side of the Corporations?
What can we do about fair elections when Corporations provide voting machines that produce bar codes we can't decipher?
Here's a debated quote from Stalin:
A historical source has been found for one variant of this quote: Boris Bazhanov's Memoirs of Stalin's Former Secretary, published in 1992 and so far as I know only available in Russian.
The pertinent passage, which appears near the end of Chapter Five, reads as follows (loosely translated):
You know, comrades," says Stalin, "that I think in regard to this: I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how.
Yes, Diebold executives are Republican conservatives. Here's a time line history of the company.
What do we do?
What can we do?
What will we do?
If you haven't watched this 2 hour expose of the Corporation, I highly recommend it:
