Thanks to the great folks at Cranked Bike Studio, I got myself set up with a Raleigh Circa 8 eight speed bicycle!
So once Cranked partner in crime Shrek clued me in on how to function the detachable front tire and how to magically get the bike stowed in my tiny Kia Rio I headed out to do some riding on the WIOUWASH trail.
Now I have to admit I haven't been on a bike in ages, more than ten years at least, so I'm a total newbie and didn't last long (an hour and a half at best).
The weather was less than ideal. Cool, breezy, a bit of light mist. But boy, was it fun!
First thing that struck me was just how easy it was and just how handy the on the grip shifter was. The trail was a bit sloppy (gotta get fenders) as it had rained most of the morning and a bit more of a challenge than I had anticipated.
It was a bit difficult getting the bike packed into my car by myself the first time, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.
Sorry if this is sort of a short diary, but I just wanted to share my first ride on my new bike.
