If you didn't think local school-board politics had become scary...
Picture a school auditorium filled with 470 K-8th graders there for a Veterans' Day assembly... Now picture the Chair of the School Board stepping to the mic... Follow me over the fold for the rest of the story...
*Reenactment
"Good morning students. Today is a day when we celebrate and honor millions of American veterans, who have fought and died to protect the Constitution from those who would destroy it. In order to give you the tools you'll need to help protect the Constitution, I'd like you to repeat these five EVIL words: socialism, communism, progressivism, totalitarianism and liberalism."
Think this reenactment can't be accurate?...
On Veterans' Day, the Chairman of the Epsom, New Hampshire School Board, Gordon Ellis, gave a speech before 470 K-8th graders during which he
asked students to repeat what he called five evil words: socialism, communism, progressivism, totalitarianism and liberalism.
I'll give him totalitarianism, and I'm used to the right calling communism and socialism evil, but Progressivism and Liberalism?
Of course people freaked out, and yesterday Mr. Ellis stepped down as chairman, although he remained on the Board.
Mr. Ellis
said that he did not know that his speech... at Epsom Central School was controversial until he came to Wednesday night's emergency school board meeting.
WTF... He calls Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, and LBJ evil and doesn't realize he's being "controversial?" As products of Progressivism are the National Parks and Golden Gate Bridge evil, Mr. Ellis? What is Progressivism, Mr. Ellis? Here, let me enlighten you... it is the belief that the problems society faces (poverty, violence, greed, racism, class warfare) can best be addressed by providing good education, a safe environment, and an efficient and fair workplace. Ooooooh... that's sooooo evil.
Listen f***nuts... you may only watch Fox News on the TV machine and listen to Glen and Rush on the radio, but you're about to learn that the world view they've crammed into your lemming-like brain is not held by most of the country. I'm sure you considered Mr. Obama's speech to students about the importance of staying in school indoctrination, but read the definition of "indoctrinate" and think about what you did...
in·doc·tri·nate - to instruct in a doctrine, principle, ideology, etc., esp. to imbue with a specific partisan or biased belief or point of view.
Words fail... Sorry... can't write any more of substance.
Stories about Mr. Ellis' past (and his contact information) are easily available on the interwebs. I'm not going to post any of that information in the body of this diary, but Google "Gordon Ellis Epsom" if you're interested in this guy's background.
