It all started on a beautiful snow covered evening in Belleview, Iowa. I worked ass off for President Obama. I went to Iowa and Texas for a week each during the primary and then ran the campaign in my home town in Wisconsin during the general election.
I told all my liberal friends on election night to be prepared to be disappointed - and I meant it. I knew from how he campaigned that Obama would take an inch if he didn't think he could get a foot or a mile. In his mind any step toward progress was better than none. Looking at history who could blame him?
The media has been the death of out movement to date. I really wish that people could turn off the media and look at the facts. But they don't; and I’m not just talking about conservatives. I see mass hysteria here on a regular basis and rarely is it warranted. The folks here are supposed to be better informed but I see them overreact on a regular basis to random media stories. Instead of supporting the President they are nearly constantly attacking him. And this is suppose to make him stronger?
I know that there are still many things undone and many things that fall short of our hopes. If we want to achieve those things I think we would be better served tying to strenthen our President rather than weaken him.
Here is my experiment . . . I would like you to tell me all the things that President Obama promised in his campaign and I will report on the progress of each of them over the next few days. I know from the media that I should easily be able to cover everything with in a couple of days because his accomplishments have been so small – not! This has been one of the most productive sessions in history.
We do not provide strength to our President by constantly criticizing him but by constantly encouraging him. There really is a difference and we seem to have forgotten it(the left has not). I believe that the public would also respond a more positive message in a positive rather than negative manner.
