Ooooh... Catchy title! Job Creator... It's like being a master of the universe. But just who are these advanced humans that propel our life forward?
Well I am one. I am the secretary who is so efficient that she knows where everything is and where everyone is supposed to be. I am the janitor who comes in every day and makes sure that the facility is properly tidied, like the groundskeeper readying the field for the big game. I am the die maker, whose attention to detail is the difference between a successful product launch and another piece of junk for the scrap heap.
Get the point. Everyone does their part. Everyone. Mr. Owner gets nowhere without everyone doing their part. That is rule number one.
Rule number two is that if everyone does their part well, Mr. Owner will always make more money off the workers than the workers make off of him/ her. Now that may seem obvious, but that knowledge is also power. It's the power that Mr. Owner does not want you to know. Mr. Owner wants you to be thankful that you have your job in these hard times. I know that I am thankful... as thankful as Mr. Owner is to have such a good worker as me.
You see, this is just another repug talking points scam, meant to glorify those who are in "the club" and repress everyone else. It's the same dynamics as wife abuse. If you get beat, it's because you deserve it. If you stay down, it's because you belong there.
A long time ago, when I was just out of school, I went on a job interview. I didn't need a job - I already had one that I liked. I just went for the practice. I had nothing at stake in the game. The owner asked me why he should consider me for employment. My response was to return the favor. I said, look, I know that if I come to work for you, you will make money off of me, perhaps a lot. You will also always make more money off me than I will make off you. So real question here is why would I want to work for you. What have you got that could excite and inspire me to make you money? Long story short, after telling me that he met had someone reverse the interview process so thoroughly, and he could decide whether I was special or just arrogant. He did, however call his secretary in front of me and cancel the rest of his interviews, and he offered me the job on the spot. I asked for 24 hours to think it over, and then I turned him down.
Knowledge is power. I don't care who owns the train. It doesn't go anywhere without Casey Jones.
Push back. Hard.
