I'm back.... finally! Employee Bill has been given the night off so here I am... in years past I've always posted a Pooties Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving but this year well #fail ....so tonight me and the pooties will share what we are grateful for...but first an ad of sorts cause well it's Black Friday...
Yep it is Black Friday...want to boycott Black Friday but still need to shop? I have just the answer for you! This week we will hold the 2nd annual Netroots Nation Holiday Bazaar! Beginning Thurs, 12/2 until Tues. 12/7 we'll be taking bids on some amazing things- all homemade by fellow bloggers! Things like
- homemade bourbon balls
- Joan McCarter's famous fruit hats
- baked goods galore
- fabulous jewelry and more!
And if you're the crafty type, it's not too late to donate something for us to auction off!
Now back to your regularly scheduled Cheers & Jeers
Top of my list...this, the kiddie pool. I've not been around in the comments much the last six months due to be incredibly busy w/campaign world and my sleep schedule well by the time I'm awake in the morning y'all are long gone from the pool LOL But I've not missed a C&J for at least reading purposes in years...and hopefully I'll be able to dive in more often soon. But I'm grateful for the kiddie pool not just for the amazing way in which Bill always manages to tickle my funny bone but for the amazing friends I've made, not just virtually but in real life too. I swear to flying spaghetti monster if it wasn't for my kiddie pool family I don't know how I'd have gotten thru the last few months. I'd name names but then I'd leave someone out and they'd feel bad so suffice it to say they know who they are
Of course I'm grateful for pooties...and most of the time I'm grateful for my pootie Scooby- though if he doesn't stop waking me up at 5 am every morning we're gonna have the first gray tabby basement cat in history :)
Shoes...glorious shoes... high heels, sandals, sneakers- shoe safaris...how boring would life be without shoes?
Twitter... seriously. Not just for the amazing friends I've made there...but for the news, the great conversation, the laughs...the community...just like Daily Kos I went for the politics but stayed for the family
Telephones! Being in the middle of nowhere, in a place where I know exactly uhhh 5 people including roomie, roomie's friends and a kiddie poolers I'd have died this year w/out my phone. Oh look...it's ringing now LOL
I'm incredibly grateful for some of the amazing candidates that ran for office this year...some of whom I worked w/officially, some I worked w/unofficially and some I just read about here on Kos and elsewhere. It wasn't a good year for Democratic challengers (heh see i am the queen of the obvious) but that doesn't mean we had shitty candidates!
I'm grateful for the amazing people I get to work with on a regular basis...some of whom are names you'd recognize, some aren't but they're all just like us...working hard for all of us on a daily basis
I'm grateful for electric blankets! Without mine I'd be a solid ice cube by now. It's only November and already I'm dreaming of moving to the equator! Scooby too is grateful for electric blankets LOL if only he'd share mine w/me more often :)
I'm grateful for the interesting, challenging and never boring work I get to do every day...between social media stuff, working on PA Progressive Summit, working on NN Holiday Bazzar and Auctions, working on Progressive Congress News and a variety of other things I never get bored
Books- glorious books! Tom Clancy has his first new book in SEVEN years out in 2 weeks... can ya tell i'm excited about it?
So what are you grateful for this year?
