Blogger Crashing Vor said Sunday that it was time to consider "regime change" in the head of Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona).
Speaking on the Meet the Face program, Vor noted that, while McCain was once considered a moderate force in the Republican region, "the leadership in McCain's head has become increasingly extreme. This is causing more and more instability in a region already problematic for America's interests."
Vor offered no specific plans or programs to further the goal of replacing the leadership in McCain's head, only saying "this is something we must explore."
Critics immediately protested Vor's statement. "That's crazy talk," responded Republican senator Lindsay Graham. "John McCain is as stable as he ever was."
Criticism also came from liberal Democrats, hesitant to stir up conflicts at a time when U.S. forces are committed in other areas. One anonymous Democrat said, "Oh, come on. McCain's head is a quagmire of conflicting interests and ideologies. We'd be bogged down in weeks, and for what? It's not like there are any valuable resources there."
Contacted Monday, Vor reiterated and expanded on his statement. "McCain's head is ripe for new ideas. There are rational thoughts in there, cowering under a ruthless dictatorship and yearning for freedom. Regime change in McCain's head could cause a 'reverse domino' effect, sparking an explosion of reason and attention to governance throughout the Republican region."
White House spokespersons had no comment.
