Senator John McCain delivered an astoundingly truthful, candid speech from the floor yesterday. Sounded so much like the old John McCain, one might momentarily double check the year. Especially as a lifelong Wisconsin resident, this speech is nothing short of ASTOUNDING.
McCain started with THIS:
"Without intending it as a commentary on his successor, I have to confess I think the senate will be a much poorer place without Russ Feingold in it."
Whoa, did y'all get that? Mindless corporate tool Ron Johnson getting a monumental diss from the Republican 2008 candidate for POTUS before he even takes office.
McCain goes on to emotionally describe their friendship, history and mutual respect to the point of fighting back tears at the end.
He's one of the most admirable people i've ever met in my whole life.
I can't do justice with these remarks how much this institution has benefitted here from him. I DON'T think he's replacable. I WILL TRY HARDER TO BECOME HALF THE PUBLIC SERVANT HE IS."
WOW. Just WOW. I hope every Ron Johnson voter sees this. I hope everyone in my state who decided to stay home on election day sees this. Man, McCain wasn't the only guy fighting back tears during this speech..
