Its been a while since I posted regularly here at DailyKos, not because I have nothing to say but mostly because others here tend to post what I planned to say better than I could write it.

Today though I decided to post whats on my mind, even though GrannyDoc has a post at the top of the rec list which says a similar thing. One comment I saw was one of the usual apologists saying that it was a small minority in the left blogosphere who are upset with Obama. Well, apparently now I am one of them.

I did not come to this decision on a whim. In fact I have been one of the Presidents staunchest supporters and defenders.

Take a look at my very first diary here. I was an early supporter when a large vocal bloc here were hard core Hillery supporters. I worked with Democrats Abroad making phone calls for candidate Obama in the crucial primary states he won. I donated money I could, and asked others to do the same.

I had bought in. I understood how my mom felt about President Kennedy, which before candidate Obama I could never fathom. I knew if we worked hard, made calls we could make a difference and we would have President Obama. Yes We Could.

Now I was not wearing rose colored glasses. I knew candidate Obama was a bit of a centrist and I was not expecting a pony riding on rainbows if he was elected, but I expected a fighter. I expected President Obama to fight for a few of the core Democratic principles and not cave on those core principles. In the back of my mind I HOPED for modern FDR, but didn`t expect it.

Now, with the President caving on tax cuts before negotiations even begin(hey this reminds me of Single Payer being taken off the table before negotiations began...history sure does rhyme)I`ve had enough.

I really don`t care if he gets elected or not. If a legitimate candidate runs to the left of the President during the primary (ala Teddy Kennedy) I will support them. I will make calls and I will donate money. Maybe the President can get some support from those "undecided voters" or the mushy middle. But not from this "professional left" liberal activist.

Mr. President, I am done with you.

p.s. Now that you have earned all the financial backing from Wall Street and you wont be needing small dollar donors like me I was wondering if I could get the $550.00 I donated back. I was sold a false bill of sale. My receipt said "Change I Can Believe In".

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
