I know, I know...we should really flush Joe Miller -- failed republican candidate for senator of alaska -- down the memory hole, as exhibit A of tea party extremism and temper-tantrumism.
But this is too juicy to ignore.
Remember how there was all this hullabaloo about Miller's work with his former employer, when he got in trouble (then tried to hide it) about using government email and phone for political purposes.
Well, apparently, he didn't just try to avoid talking about it. He tried to destroy evidence.
On his way out the door -- at a time when there was an issue about his use of emails in a way that could be construed as illegal -- Miller deleted some of his emails.
Well, more than some.
Try 15,000 emails. (I can't even conceive of how anyone could delete that much.)
The government office where he worked has been able to recover them (a sign that Miller is as dumb as a bag of hair -- if you're going to destroy digital evidence, at least know how to destroy it.)
Now the borough is investigating how and why the emails were deleted. AND they want to find out if Miller has any of their documents in his possession. (hmmm...do they know something we don't?)
Anyway, here is a link to a short version of the story.
Perhaps Miller should stop contesting the election. Going to court at this point might be a dangerous thing for him.
