Pastor Steven L. Anderson. Gary DeMar. Joel McDurmon. Robert T. Lee. Neal Horsley. David Popescu. Mohsen Yahyavi. Larry Adams. Giles Muhame. David Bahati. What do these people have in common? Oh, right. They want you dead.
I was recently watching a video where Pastor Steven L. Anderson of the Faithful Word Baptist Church talks to a Tea Party crowd about his experience being tased by border patrol agents when he wouldn't consent to a car search. He said, "If they can attack your right to be secure in your person and property and beat the living fire out of you when you tell them no, then what's to stop them from attacking your freedom of religion? Your freedom of speech? Your freedom of assembly?"
Previously, he's said this:
"The biggest hypocrite in the world is the person who believes in the death penalty for murderers and not for homosexuals."
The message is clear: when straight men have their rights violated it's a tragedy. But homos? What do you mean "rights"? Kill 'em. His fave method is stoning, by the way; he says so in an email to me. Screenshot after the fold.
And he wonders why the Southern Poverty Law Center has his church listed as a hate group.
There's an old diary called I Think They Want Me Dead... that I think you should read. Read the comments. Then come back and take a look at these quotes and pictures; see if you have any doubt over whether these people want him dead:
"the occasional execution of "sodomites" would serve society well, because "the law that requires the death penalty for homosexual acts effectively drives the perversion of homosexuality underground, back into the closet.""
Gary DeMar, founder of American Vision. Quote from the SPLC.
"It just so happens that God revealed that the homosexual act is a civil crime, and it just so happens that He revealed that the homosexual act as a civil crime deserves the death penalty."
Joel McDurmon, Director of Research for American Vision
"Because it is such a great curse to humanity, the God who created humans says put homosexuals to death (Leviticus 20:13)! They ought not to be allowed to live!"
Robert T. Lee, founder of the "Society for the Practical Establishment and Perpetuation of the Ten Commandments"
"While it is true that building facilities and intering[sic] these abominations will be extremely expensive and time consuming, that is the cross that we have to bear in order to do what God demands of all of us. I am certain disposing of them would be a fairly quick process."
Neal Horsley, a foaming-at-the-mouth "pro-life" activist, in an email to allentownboy
"I said I believe homosexuals should be executed . . . when I say homosexuals should be executed, I am speaking in terms of government actions. That is the way the Bible puts it."
David Popescu, a Canadian politician
"The same Bible says in Leviticus that if a man sleeps with a men he should be punished with death. We are not going to rewrite this Bible."
David Bahati, Ugandan MP and author of the "Kill the Gays" bill
Homosexuals deserve to be executed or tortured and possibly both, an Iranian leader told British MPs during a private meeting at a peace conference, The Times has learnt.
Mohsen Yahyavi is the highest-ranked politician to admit that Iran believes in the death penalty for homosexuality after a spate of reports that gay youths were being hanged.
From Times Online.
Also, Giles Muhame, editor of Uganda's Rolling Stone newspaper, is responsible for this piece of work:
And Larry Adams, the lovely man behind this sign:
