I spent last week visiting my parents in central Indiana, which they moved to a few years ago. I got an opportunity to meet a variety of critters, including miniature horses.
My parents and sister have 2 pooties, Crescendo and Allegro. Crescendo is black with white feet and a white bib. I don't have a lot of technical expertise, but on this site, the picture of Sylvia best matches Crescendo's markings. Allegro is a tabby with a white bib. The cats are barn cats.
We've had barn cats before, when we lived in West Michigan in the '90's. Those pooties eventually became indoor/outdoor cats, who slept in the barn but spent plenty of cold days indoors. That doesn't appear to be an option this time.
The reason this time is Sage. Sage is a brown bunny with white feet who lives in the breezeway between the garage and the rest of the house. There's a casual table with 4 chairs, and he's staked out one of the chairs as his. The breezeway is heated some with glass windows. Crescendo and Allegro (mostly Crescendo) love to sit just outside the windows, close to the door. Depsite the fact they appear to be begging to get in, they aren't trust worthy; they're cats. If we let them in, they're as likely as not to harm Sage. Hence, the bunny stays indoors and they stay out. Crescendo can eat all the mice and voles she wants, but Sage is a pet. And the pooties aren't coming in. The barn is warm enough. However, the whole situation seems like a great allegory for stalemate. I'm sure both I/P factions would happily steal this story as a metaphor, but I'm not going to compare it to any international situation. Others can apply it metaphorically. This will probably get used as a pooties at windows thread by people with more technical expertise than me, which is fine.
And any cliff notes on how to post photos in future diaries are welcome too.
