This is a bit of Meta. But for those who have not visited MBs diary on the FP today, its worth a gander. In short, he makes the horrific claim that while the tax cut compromise was overall a bad compromise, the extension of unemployment benefits is a good thing.
Here are some reactions to his post.

Life is less stressful when you realize that Obama is a Republican in "D" clothing.

And never mind there's only about $50 billion for the millions unemployed - there's $750 billion for a handful of fuckers rich people who didn't need it.
Please don't whine.
Rich people are better than us.

No help for the 99ers is not a win, though it may be easy for EMPLOYED people to call it one.

There are more, which I will not repost...even a few in the hiddens that I will not repost, cause they were hidden.
My point is simple. How have we gotten to the point where even Meteor Blades is getting this treatment. This is MB's first paragraph
Whatever our various views as progressives on the tax-cut deal now headed for President Obama's desk after the big fight of the past few weeks, there was one clear gain Thursday: a 13-month renewal of the extension of federally funded unemployment insurance compensation. The extension is retroactive to Dec. 1, when the previous extension expired.
Things have gone far enough that Meteor Blades is being called out as being a sellout. I will hope that its all new folks...but I do have an observation.
All of you folks who are advocating a this-is-a-complete-capitulation line, that Obama is no-different-than-the-republicans...read the comments in this diary. This is what your lack of nuance has wrought.
UPDATE/CLARIFICATION: To be clear, I've disagreed with MB on many issues. Its not the disagreement that bothers me, its the demand that there can be NOTHING good in the compromise, or any action by Obama.
It is the nature of the criticism, not the fact that criticism occurred.
