Well, there's no doubt he's smarter than me. But that is another issue.
I was among those who growled and grimaced as the Boms (as I affectionately call him) started cozying up to the rethugs over taxes. After all of the weeks of "we're not gonna vote for anything until our rich fuck-head friends get more and more money to buy things they don't need!" it felt like a total capitulation.
And then....
The rethug talking points died. Before, they could rant and mew about taxes, but at least they were advancing something. Afterwards, they got to burble happily about the Boms.
And then...the bombs explode.
DADT. START. First Responders, yada yada.
When the rethugs bitched and moaned (making people work near christmas is anti christian! (pissing off the military) and well, where is the money for the 9/11 heroes going to come from? (pissing off everyone, particularly john stewart) ) their mealy-mouthed and mendacious personalities could no longer be hidden from even the most obtuse fox viewer -- i mean, typical fox viewer. This is why fox, when shamed by stewart, finally talked about the 9/11 responders bill without once mentioning the rethugs, but implying the dems were behind the trouble. (that is a sign of public perception victory, when the Fox lie is so extreme)
They were shamed into acting like they were in government. At least some of them were.
And now, there is a track record. Some rethugs have already gone against their leadership. the lock step may well have been broken.
so we come away with one of the most productive congress's in history.
I the Boms that smart? Or just lucky?
I go with smart.
