Yes! Another Kerry VP post! I'm sorry! But it's different this time. This time, I need your help.
You see, I'm planning to do series on my website (see sig for link) of the possible serious Kerry VP candidates and their strengths and weaknesses (in my view). What I need you guys' help with is whittling down my list. I've created two categories: People who sound appealing but probably aren't serious suggestions, and people who are definitely in the running:
APPEALING BUT NOT SERIOUS SUGGESTIONS:
Barbara Boxer (CA sen.), Tom Daschle (SD sen.), Lloyd Doggett (TX rep.), Dianne Feinstein (CA sen.), Tom Harkin (IA sen.), John Lewis (GA rep.), Janet Napolitano (AZ gov.), Ed Rendell (PA gov.), Kurt Schmoke (Howard Law dean, fmr. Philly mayor), Elliott Spitzer (NY AG), and Tom Vilsack (IA gov.)
IN THE RUNNING:
Evan Bayh (IN), US Senator
Joe Biden (DE), US Senator
John Breaux (LA), US Senator
Wesley Clark (AK), Four-Star General (Ret.)
Max Cleland (GA), Fmr. US Senator
John Edwards (NC), US Senator
Richard Gephardt (MO), US Congressman
Bob Graham (FL), US Senator
Gary Hart (CO), Fmr. US Senator
Mary Landrieu (LA), US Senator
Bill Nelson (FL), US Senator
Bill Richardson (NM), Governor
Jay Rockefeller (WV), US Senator
Mark Warner (VA), Governor
I've also included a few people who I simply won't consider considering: Sharpton, Kucinich, Dean, Gore, Clinton (both), any Republicans (even McCain), any former general whose name doesn't rhyme with "guess park," any SCOTUS justices.
MY QUESTION: Am I making any mistakes? Any people you'd add to either list, or take off? (Remember, the question isn't who you'd like to see, but who you think is probably being seriously considered by Kerry.) Anyone I should move from one list to the other? Please give some reason with your responses.
Thanks a lot! I appreciate the help.
