This morning, Secretary of State Elaine Marshall picked up a major endorsement from North Carolina's largest African-America political organization. The Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg announced their support for Elaine's bid for U.S. Senate. The caucus has been instrumental in the election of Democrats in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County including President Obama.
About them:
“The Black Political Caucus of Charlotte-Mecklenburg has been since 1965 a ‘voice’ for the African-American community on issues ranging from education to economic development and social policy.”
Elaine's statement via press release:
"I am honored and humbled by their endorsement," said Marshall. “For over 40 years, the Black Political Caucus has been an important voice for justice and equality."
This starts off another good week for our campaign. Just last week we passed 2,000 Facebook fans, shattered our fundraising goal (now: $32,410 from 853 donors and growing!), engaged with thousands of voters, and held Burr accountable for his obstructionism.
As we close out the financial quarter, things are only looking up. Thanks everyone!
