Well, there's Michelle Bachmann, and Virginia Foxx, and Louie Goehert, and Jim Bunning.  But there is also Paul Broun.  We haven't heard much from him lately, so to correct that, Georgia's 10th CD Rep did an interview on Sirius XM today to make sure his asshole credentials were up to date.

I read about this on politico.com

Forget attack HCR, or climate change, no Broun is going birther/socialist/Muslim on this one.

He found the edge, and leaped far, far overboard.

More over our edge...

From the Politico article:

Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) said Thursday that he does not know if President Barack Obama is either a citizen or a Christian.

Asked if he thought the president is an "American citizen and a Christian," Broun first responded, "I’m not going to get involved in that."

Oy.

"Is he a Christian?" Dominick then asked.

"I don’t know that," Broun responded, explaining that "I’m a Christian but only me and the Lord know that for sure."

Um, Presidents need to be Christians?  I must have missed that part of the Constitution.

The Georgia congressman spent much of the rest of the interview attacking Obama as a "socialist."

"I know he is," a socialist, Broun said. "You look at his own writings. He said when he was in college he leaned to Marxist tendencies and is linked to Marxist professors. He joined Marxists clubs. And look at who he’s put in his administration, they’re devout socialists."

"America has to stand up and decide if we want to be a socialist nation or if we’re going to be a free nation," he said.

If this moron bumped into Lenin himself on a sidewalk, he wouldn't know a socialist from his own asshole.

Not being happy with just posting this here, I went to Cong. Loon's website and send him a reply.  (Oh, when they ask for a in district zip code, just use one from their own office.)

My reply:  (I kept it nice an polite.)

Dear Cong. Broun,

I've just read about your interview on Sirius XM radio via the Politico.com website.

To say the least I am stunned.

You may be a medical doctor, but you knowledge about simple things like where the President was born, or what socialism is, to say the least, missing in action.

Your comments are truly reprehensible and as far as I am concerned, they bring dishonor to the House of Representatives.   As a political science and history teacher, I know that politicians often say things to score some political points with constituents, but to out and out slander the President of the United States only because you dislike his ideas is just pathetic.  In fact, I see it as down right childish.

If you want to debate his policy ideas, great.  But can we stop the stupid stuff, like not being born in the country, or not being a Christian (which begs the question...Where in the Constitution does it say the President has to be a Christian?).  Finally, stop the socialist garbage.  I can teach you what socialism really is, and trust me, this country is light years away from anything even remotely looking like socialism.

So Congressman, grow up and act like adult for once.  Stop being a petulant little child who's angry that a Democrat is in charge.

Thank you,
//

(How hard do you think it is to find a GA-10 zip code?)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

You can add a private note to this diary when hotlisting it:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from your hotlist?
Are you sure you want to remove your recommendation? You can only recommend a diary once, so you will not be able to re-recommend it afterwards.
Rescue this diary, and add a note:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary from Rescue?
Choose where to republish this diary. The diary will be added to the queue for that group. Publish it from the queue to make it appear.

You must be a member of a group to use this feature.

Add a quick update to your diary without changing the diary itself:
Are you sure you want to remove this diary?
(The diary will be removed from the site and returned to your drafts for further editing.)
(The diary will be removed.)
Are you sure you want to save these changes to the published diary?
