Ya know, I am really coming to love bashing Republicans on a regular basis like this. It clears me out, perhaps not unlike an enema.
It has been suggested that I publically make a fool out of U.S. House Rep. Blackburn (Tennessee), so I clearly had no choice but to do a bit of Googling and come up with some very interesting facts.
Mwa ha ha ha!
I'm such a badass.
I do not like it when Republicans feel the overwhelming impulse to punish other people for having actual lives. I find it impractical and hyperbolic in the extreme, as well as fracking annoying and harmful. Marsha Blackburn is just such a politician.
Marsha Blackburn is an anti-choice nutjob
One thing is certain: Marsha Blackburn won't be in Nancy Pelosi's "Democrat House Women ONLY!" meeting today. That meeting with a secret agenda; I would guess to launch a new call to all Democrat - Leftist wymens to rally and somehow ramp up the volume even more for supporting the abortion payments clauses in ObamaCare. But who knows? maybe she's breaking the news that abortion language has to be stricken; and the gals will have to put on a straight face, smile, and hope blood-spattered feminists like Amanda Marcotte won't demand their heads on a pike as well as their fetuses on a platter.
and a stupid idiot
The Republican Party has been promoting the view that Barack Obama is a Socialist, and they have been bitterly resisting any health care plan.
But now two of their "illustrious" women members in the House have gone one step further: They are promoting the privatization of " Socialist" programs such as Social Security and Medicare! :(
Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn has introduced such legislation, and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has also endorsed it. How crazy is this, that two women who have to know that women are more the beneficiary of both Social Security and Medicare since women tend to live longer than men, are so mean spirited and ideological as to want to end all government involvement in these programs, which have meant so much to the promotion of a safety net that protects the middle class and the poor!
and a typical homophobe
U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn is one of 37 members of Congress and two senators to sign onto a friend of the court brief in support of a referendum on the District of Columbia’s gay-marriage law, the Washington Post reports.
Such a referendum could overturn a decision by D.C.’s city council to legalize gay marriage. But D.C.’s election board has ruled that a referendum would be discriminatory against gays and lesbians.
and hates the environment
U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., has written to President Barack Obama asking him to stop the EPA from offering a $2,500 prize for YouTube videos and said in an article published Thursday that the agency should not be permitted to regulate greenhouse gases.
and a massive hypocrite
But as part of her speech, Blackburn said PAYGO rules are not, in and of themselves, good enough, because lawmakers can point to emergencies or crises that occasionally warrant exceptions to the spending rules. That, Blackburn said, is the problem.
"Let's agree that we're going to have PAYGO enforcement," she told her colleagues. "That we're not going to cry 'emergency' every time we have a Katrina, every time we have a tsunami, every time we have a need for extra spending, that we don't go call for a special appropriation that allows us to circumvent the PAYGO rules."
and is a regressive asshole
While in the State Senate, Marsha Blackburn led a state-wide grassroots campaign to defeat the proposed state income tax ...
and proud of all the wrong things:
The Family Research Council awarded Congressman Blackburn the ‘true blue’ distinction for the first half of the 108th Congress. The National Right to Life praised Blackburn for supporting the Medicare Prescription Drug and Modernization Act and 100% pro-life voting record. She scored a 100 in the American Shareholders Association for protecting American shareholders. She was thanked by the Military Officers Association of Middle Tennessee for pro-military voting record and received 100% pro-family voting record from the Christian Coalition of America. She received the ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The American Legion National Headquarters recognized Congressman Blackburn for voting to support increased Veterans Affairs medical care funding and she was praised by the Government Accountability Project for supporting Federal whistleblower protection. The Congressman also received 100% approval from the US Boarder Control.
and an extremist C-streeter
Family leaders consider their political network to be Christ's avant garde, an elite that transcends not just conventional morality but also earthly laws regulating lobbying. In the Family's early days, they debated registering as "a lobby for God's Kingdom." Instead, founder Abraham Vereide decided that the group could be more effective by working personally with politicians. "The more invisible you can make your organization," Vereide's successor, current leader Doug Coe preaches, "the more influence you can have." That's true -- which is why we have laws requiring lobbyists to identify themselves as such.
and possibly on her way out.
Given the 7th District's strong conservative tilt, it is not likely that Blackburn will face substantive opposition in the near future.
Tennesseeans, any chance of getting this awful woman out of Congress or, like, out of politics altogether?!
