Goldie inspects the basting of Dr. Lori’s quilt
Some conditions don’t threaten one’s life – they just make life painful, miserable, and very, very hard to bear. Chronic pain and depression color everything. That’s not really living in my book. But these are also conditions where a community quilt (or “love catcher”) can pack a big punch. We can help a valued Kossack who suffers everyday – we can help her with our words of love and support.
Dr. Lori’s quilt
Louisiana 1976 suffers from fibromyalgia, severe arthritis, and depression. She suffers. Suffers. Everyday. Let us lift her spirits with messages on a colorful quilt – something she can hang on to, cuddle, and soothe herself with loving words.
ulookarmless’ quilt
Leave a message in the comments below and I will transcribe it in archival ink on muslin and sew it into a colorful quilt. I figure the cost of doing this at about $5 per message (roughly the cost of sending a nice greeting card). If you would like to help with the cost, please use this PayPal link – or email me for a snail mail address if you prefer to send a check. But if you cannot contribute money, please leave a message anyway. The magic is in the words, and your message for Louisiana 1976 will mean a lot to her – beginning tonight -- so don’t hold back!
