According the Partisans on the couch at Fox & Friends Republicans are mad at LA Gov. Bobby Jindal for the way he's handling the BP oil spill. Closer examination however would seem to reveal another their concerns as yet another attempt by Roger Alies to shape the argument though the usual blend of disinformation and media to bias.
Is Fox inventing stories to shape the argument? Of course we've seen this before; the exception here is now they are determined to swift boat their own for not following certain memes; the most important of which is never agree with President Barack Obama
More after the jump...
On the June 2nd edition of Fox and friends buried in their endless negative coverage of the spill they managed to get in a few digs at LA Governor Bobby Jindal. Brian Killamead said that republicans were made at Bobby Jindal for saying that he needed the Government's help with the spill and the followed it by adding Republicans also didn't like the fact that he was "calling out BP" by saying they would have to pay for the spill's damages. To which Steve Doocy replied: "Indeed."
This of course prompted me to so a little poking around because much to my chagrin I love to troll conservative blogs and see what the Far Right Loons are up to and I could not remember any such reporting over the last two weeks that would substantiate any of the FOX and Friends claims that anybody is mad at Bobby Jindal about their issues.
On the surface the admission that ht needs federal help seems like it should be applauded but that interferes with the steady Fox drum beat of Government can't do anything(as John Stossel now says to any question asked on Fox) and certainly nobody like the optics of a republican asking a democratic administration for aid.
Now the assertion that the GOP is mad because Jindal "called out BP" on having to pay for the damages in quite possibly one of the most absurd things I have heard a republican say in some time. Who would they prefer pay for this? The American taxpayer? Martians?
As I have contended from the beginning of this crisis that if Obama had got involved the right would have screamed that he’s secretly trying to expand government power by nationalizing a foreign company i.e. never let a crisis go to waste. Of course now they went the other direction and attacked him for following their free market principles by making BP sole responsible. How dare he tell a corporation he made mistake! Don't you know how much corporations love the GOP?????
Anyways a quick survey of the following sites would seem to indicate that this meme exists only in Roger Allies head. So really what we have here are mad Foxies once again trying to stir up their serially misinformed base.
A quick run through "Google: reveals no such stories of Republicans being mad at Bobby Jindal.
Politico.com? Nothing.
Weekly Standard? Nope.
Newsmax: they’ve got about a dozen stories about Jindal criticizing Obama’s response.
Drudge Report? Nada
Breitbart’s Big Government-naw, their too sucking a certain criminal "journalist’s" extremely small putz.
Red State: Nope.
Malkin: No.
Townhall.com: No.
Hotair: No.
I can’t find a single story to support the claim that republicans are mad with Jindal in anyways shape or form. Correct me if I’m wrong but once again we seems to have a pretty clear case of creating a story. Not that this ANYTHING NEW but frankly I was surprised to see such a blatant attempt to heard one of their cats back over to the right catbox-the one with Obama’s name one the side.
Update: The verdict is in; WHAT THE HELL WAS I DOING WATCHING FOX?
