Oh yes, he covered it last night. And he did a better job of sticking with the actual facts than most of the media has done. You know, like what was actually found on the boat. (I've put the video below the fold so as not to slow down the load time on the diaries page.) And how has the media covered this in America?
"Great hate!"
"Less killing!"
"Great hate!"
"Less killing!"
But the key I wanted to focus on was something that Jon thinks both sides can agree on towards the end of the clip. And that is, Charles Krauthammer is a vile, disgusting piece of human filth. And while Jon didn't specifically say the words "go fuck yourself", it's obvious from what Jon did say that that was the undercurrent. You can feel the anger from the audience at Krauthammer's remarks too. Listen to what Jon has to say about this entire conflict. I'm just surprised MediaMatters doesn't have a piece up about this disgusting verbal diarrhea from Krauthammer yet.
You know, I don't think we can get these two sides to come to any agreement. Well... except perhaps this next statement by Charles Krauthammer may be the stupidest fucking thing anyone's ever said about the Middle East ever.
Krauthammer (Fox News, May 31 broadcast): "What exactly is the humanitarian crisis that the flotilla was actually addressing? There is none. There's no one starving in Gaza...."
You know, whatever you may think of the respective leaderships, the Israelis or Hamas, whatever Gods you pray to or whatever direction you may pray to them in, if you can't even look at Gaza, and agree that there is suffering there that needs to be alleviated, no matter who's to blame for it, then your heart is so dead, tourists flock there to float on their backs in it.
Hear, hear, Jon.
And BTW, ThinkProgress has done some good research on showing it's not just Krauthammer, but a host of conservatives, including Newt Gingrich, who are denying and/or downplaying the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. It's like a game of, "Crisis? What crisis?"
Now, completely unrelated to the whole I/P conflict, the next segment featured John Oliver scoring an interview with... none other than Larry Craig!!!
I can't believe Craig brought up airports!!!
Oh, but, ah... the main focus of this diary should be: Charles Krauthammer is an asswipe.
