4 years ago, I really didn't care much about politics. I was 22 and quite content with the Clinton administration and more concerned about graduating, partying and dating than politics. Even though I found Gore a bit too stiff for my tastes, he seemed eons better than Bush, who I felt was as dumb as a stump and rode daddys coattails and connections to the nomination.
I remember skipping classes after the election and spending hours online, in front of CNN and talking to friends about how Bush was trying to steal the election.
A political junkie was born...
I paid more attention to the news after that and discovered wage-slave.org at some point. Somehow about a year or so ago, I discovered Kos' site and though I haven't posted much, I think I've read everything that's been written here including comments since. :-)
As of this writing, I spend far too much time at this site and at belief.net's politics board. I tend to check cnn and even foxnews.com more than I should and read Tacticus daily for views from the other side. My book of choice at the moment: "Had Enough" by Carville.
I wonder how many other disaffected younger voters (or non-voters) have been sucked into the process and are currently truly engaged because of Bush's horrid treatment of the Presidency.
I think it's going to be a helluva ride from now till November, but I fear the post-election letdown. Maybe the Kossacks can start an online group therapy to help with the political withdrawal. :-)
