The past winter of discontent turned to a freaky spring of sweltering heat that continued right into the middle of summer. Temperatures are rising every which way.
Boehner, the jerkdog, is vicariously reliving his childhood through the retro lenses of the hate-filled teabucket brigade. It's all become a zero sum game for the Republican naysayers. A game that this nation can't afford to lose.
So... the good news is that Mitch McConnell is an unpopular lame duck in Kentucky now. Kentucky ranks 7th in the nation in highest unemployment rates and people have noticed who is blocking the legislative cure to alleviate the joblessness.
Who says there isn't a cure for the summertime blues? We have Jack Conway stepping up to that Kentucky Senate seat... whoo hoo... a new day's blowing.

And on the home front here... my tomato patch is superb. I've never seen tomatoes this big or so many. Hot dog.
The kids next door must have eaten melons and dropped a few seeds over in my yard because I now have a small patch of some kind of cantaloupe or honeydew growing. It's a freebie... I'll take it.
Spent the evening out back in the flowers. My favorite place to be. Planning to build a circular rose garden with some lavender and other perennials mixed in.
So... how are you East Coasters holding up? They say the heat has been oppressive.

This description of Col. Jack Jacobs by Otteray Scribe from Keith Olbermann’s diary got me, especially this:
I have chills every time I see Col. Jacobs on the screen. He does not have to wear his medal. You can see it in his eyes. The quiet dignity and humility of a true hero.

In a front-page story about Sharron-the-Obtuse-Angle suing Harry Reid for reminding people of her extremist views after she scrubbed her campaign website, trumpeter sums up perfectly what Angle's suit is all about.

In TheFatLadySings excellent Morning Feature diary on community driven health reform, DBunn's comment discusses the use of "señoras" in his own health care community work: "Respected women within the Latino community, often a little older, who can help their friends and neighbors understand why, when, and how to seek care, and make the connection between the patient population and the available services."
