Of all the candidates running for the United States Senate, Alexi Giannoulias is one that is a true "grassroots" candidate. A man of the people. A man that will represent people to benefit people. Alexi Giannoulias is down here in the "grassroots" with us.
His opponent takes money from the financial industry and in fact has received gobs of it from them after his vote against financial reform. His opponent is a true man of the financial industry.
So let us continue this "grassroots" and "netroots" effort in favor of Alexi Giannoulias.
Congressman Mark Kirk is owned and operated by the special interests. Specifically, he is owned by the financial industry. He takes money from the financial industry. To the tune of $535,280. And this, according to ABC News who reported that of all Republicans, Mark Kirk takes the most money.
A leader, in a very bad way. Also on this list are several Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, including Pennsylvania Republican Pat Toomey ($319,459), California Republican Carly Fiorina ($254,451) and Indiana Republican Daniel Coats ($174,651). My God, Fiorina has not even been elected but is proven to be quite a "pig at the trough."
Marketwatch.com, which is owned by News Corp, which owns the Wall Street Journal, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch of Fox News, puts Mark Kirk's figure even higher at $826,149.
Today, I will choose to believe Mr. Murdoch and company.
And recently, Mark Kirk returned campaign funds to Goldman Sachs.
The question is did Mark Kirk vote against financial reform because of these donations. The answer is obviously, yes. Mark Kirk is in the pockets of the financial industry and has always done the bidding for the industry.
It is time we elect a candidate that will do the bidding for the consumer. Alexi Giannoulias is the person to do just that.
But.
Alexi needs your time, energy, and money because he is up against the Goliath Financial industry. And David, Alexi Giannoulias, can knock down the nasty Goliath with your support. He has already received $45,438 in donations from 1,423 donors on Act Blue. Let's pad that number to $100,000 from 2500 donors today. And spread the word.
Go Act Blue.
