The beatings will continue until morale improves.
About 40 business leaders and other conservatives attended a Wednesday morning meeting organized at the downtown LifeWay building to discuss a bill sponsored by council members Jamie Hollin and Mike Jameson that would apply Metro’s current nondiscrimination policy to third-party vendors that do business with the city.
The Christian group Family Action Council of Tennessee organized the meeting. A reporter from The City Paper was not granted access to attend the gathering, and was asked to wait in the lobby.
David Fowler, who heads the Family Action Council of Tennessee, could not immediately be reached for comment.
The poor homophobes.... bless their hearts.
It's ironic to me that, at a time when unemployment remains over 9% in Tennessee and the economic inequality gap is continuing to grow, a group of "Christian" business leaders, lobbyists, and elected officials would see the continued right to hate pray the gay away discriminate as their top priority.
So, what can you do about it? I'm glad you asked!
The Tennessee Equality Project is organizing a campaign to support the passage of a non-discrimination ordinance in Nashville. (It's the first step in promoting the radical gay agenda plot to take over the world.)
TEP needs donations, phone bankers, and advocates who can support this important effort. There is no question that Republican hate groups are working to continue their failed legacy of uncharitable antipathy toward an oppressed minority group.
The tide is turning in Tennessee.
