The Tragedy in Tucson has caught the attention of our leaders in Congress. It has suddenly occurred to them that they are vulnerable to random acts of violence by gun wielding maniacs.
But...
The power of the NRA is so profound that this gun manufacturer's mouth piece can gin up voter back lash against any attempt to enact sensible restrictions on gun ownership.
Well, I have a plan.
The only people with more power over our bought and paid for Representatives are the huge banking houses, who decide who and how they will be regulated with campaign contributions and advertising skill.
So...
If we were each to buy an automatic (Glock would be OK) and walk into a bank, stealing $10, (no more - we want to make a point) the banks would get that point immediately. Guns make them vulnerable, too. And, we might have stolen $10,000!
Those banks might join us in forcing Congress to restrict 30 shot ammo clips, cop killer bullets, and all forms of guns designed to kill people, not rabbits and ducks. Now understand, as a vegetarian, I no more approve of killing small animals than killing small people. But, for those who insist that a view of the world devised in the late 1700's is still a sensible one today, let them keep their rifles and shotguns. Just make it a lot harder to hide them and sneak up on innocent people.
Banks are the only entities stronger than the NRA, with both the money and power to shape gun policy. Let's scare the Be'jesus out of them and get them on our side!
The new slogan for gun control?
"Let's Rob A Bank"
