Nobody really knows how much dirty money is in the system.
There is literally dirty money filling empty (of water) swimming pools all over Northern California.
And there is an ongoing torrent of counterfeits (North Korea is said to be the main printer).
But any schmuck with a laser printer can make a good copy.
There is a way to bust this game.
The treasury is preparing to issue new $100 bills.
But are they smart enough to seize the occasion to bust the dirty money and the counterfeiters?
What do you think?
Here's the benefit. There is about 850-900 billion dollars in circulation.
I propose that at least 10% of it is dirty and counterfeit. Say 85 billion. That's a lot of school lunches.
What the Treasury should do is call in all existing $100 bills for exchange. Old bills are checked for legitimacy. All bills are checked for legitimate origins. I.e. where did you get these bills?
Do they dare do this? God (Allah) knows how much dirty money there is out there. My estimate could be off by an order of magnitude. If you really implemented this procedure the lobbists and crooks would crawl out of the woodwork like roaches in a kitchen.
Unfortunately Geithner won't answer my communications on the subject.
Here is a petition to Congrss on the subject
