Our newest quilt inspector, Betty, inspecting mango's quilt
As you may know, our beloved Nurse Kelley suffers from a very painful condition. It is called spinal stenosis, a progressive ailment affecting the spinal column that has no cure. It makes it hard to walk, hard to stand, and sometimes it just plain clouds everything with pain.
This darling woman is, in essence, our "school nurse" -- she educates us about things that affect our health and about disabilities. She is there for us. This angel holds our hands when we hurt and makes us feel better -- even when she might not feel so well, herself. Let's put our arms around her and make her with a big, love catcher quilt for her bed, full of loving, supportive messages. Let's show Nurse Kelley how much we care about her.
mango's quilt top
A "love catcher" quilt is a quilt containing loving messages from you, transcribed by me in archival ink on muslin, worked into patterns with colorful fabrics. The love in a such a blanket is palpable -- and I think this blanket will be very comforting for Nurse Kelley. It will allow her to keep us all close any time she's hurting. To include a message, write it in a comment below!

I generally figure the cost of making these quilts at $5/message plus shipping. If you would like to help with the cost, here is a PayPal link -- or email me for a snail mail address if you prefer to send a check. But please leave a message regardless -- it is in no way necessary to donate to include a message. Your words have power and will make this a very special blanket indeed!

Mango's quilt is sandwiched and is being quilted -- it will be done shortly. And this is good because mango had her surgery yesterday and is recovering well! I have finished transcribing Lt. Choi's messages and we have finished collecting DaNang65's messages.
