If Chuck Norris is the Immovable object, the Corporate Profits must be the Irresistible force. Or is it the other way around? Does it really matter?
Let's pit Corporate Profits against some other Mighty adversaries and see how they stack up.
- American People vs Corporate Profits
- American Jobs vs Corporate Profits
- Climaticide vs Corporate Profits
- Human Rights vs Corporate Profits
- The Rule of Law vs Corporate Profits
- Education vs Corporate Profits
- The Economy vs Corporate Profits
Dishonest brokers will tell us that there is no conflict.
Corporate Profits serve the American People. American jobs are created with Corporate Profits. Corporate Profits are the way to save the planet. Freemarkets enhance Human Rights. Corporate Profits benefit the Rule of Law as well. And Corporate Profits are good for education.
This line of argument is encapsulated in two words, for a quick and efficient, euphemistic soundbyte: "The Economy":
"The only way to solve our Education Problems is Corporate Profits to Grow the Economy ."
I'd prefer to separate the Corporate Profits out of the Economy as an institution, to de-euphemize and to disconnect the two. After all, it's quite clear during this 'Recession' that Corporate Profits can go up with the fall of the economy. Isn't it possible then, that corporate profits could go down and the Economy still rise?
Maybe we should take a look at that.
