Not much to say besides RUSS IS BACK, with a sigh of relief from the great state of Wisconsin, and the nation as a whole. Far from taking the cushy lobbyist or think tank or corporate board job that many Senators fall back on after losing a seat, Russ is determined to continue the fight of his career.
Progressives United was created to fight corporate influence in our government, specifically in the wake of Citizens United.
Join me over the jump.
Its good to have Russ back in action. The PAC will
A. Organize progressives nationwide for a grassroots movement to fight, and eventually overturn CU.
B. Serve as a grassroots base for folks to organize around candidates and causes that advance a progressive ideal
C. Hold elected officials and the media accountable for Beltway thinking, voting, and reporting
D. Give money and funnel volunteers to progressive candidates around the country.
Russ has committed this PAC to the same high standards he set for himself as a Senator: No soft money, no unlimited corporate donations, and every donation will be reported and made public, whether legally required or not.
Additionally, everyone should be signing up to get alerts and information from Progressives United. Go to Progressives United to sign up.
Thank you, Russ, for all you did for Wisconsin and the nation, and for continuing the fight.Updated by TobyRocksSoHard at Wed Feb 16, 2011, 11:05:48 AM
Rec list first-timer. Thanks, but credit goes to Russ. Will be updating youtube and responding to comments, but I'm not at home currently, and DK4 is wonderful in many ways, but not great on mobile. In the meantime, I'd like to join Russ in encouraging fellow Wisconsinites to rally against Walker's budget repair bill at the Capitol. Live tweet the event (or show solidarity nationwide) with the hashtags #NotMyWI, and #SolidarityWI
