I have been pondering over the political and economic events of the last few months. One thought, one idea, one realization keeps coming to mind. We are at a social, economic, and constitutional crossroads in America. We are here now, not in a few months, weeks, or years, but today. Right here and now is our opportunity to turn back the rightwing overclass in this country. This time is ripe to crush them and their plans to take total control of our lives. This is our chance. This is our time.
What crystalizes the moment, is the obvious fact that the demonstations in Wisconsin against this wicked Walker and his plans were/are spontaneous. These demonstrations are not a paid for propaganda parlance of some "Citizens United" front hiding behind the corporate doors in some corporate high rise, but the real outgrowth of individual and collective frustration and anger over the rightwing overclass' assault on our economic and social freedoms.
We have to realize this one important fact. If we as average citizens do not jump on this right now, there will never be another time. The rightwing knows this. They have all the cards at this point. If they can whip up false support, and misdirected anger like they did in 2010, then wait to see what they do in 2012.
We must fight this back with a well thought out plan to tip the balance against them, and then work towards eliminating them and their ideology once and for all.
The first part has already started in Wisconsin and to a lesser degree in other states. Holding the line on our right to collective bargaining. Second we must, as some have discussed in other diaries, a movement to recall the Governor and other senators in Wisconsin, and in other states that have recall. Third once this movement to recall is set in motion, we must start a third almost simultaneously movement to reunionize the whole United States. This is not going to be easy, but with the right battles and the correct rehtoric we can force the elite in this nation to pay us a fair days wages for a good days work. We must make it clear, we want fair pay, time off, a liberal benefits package, and the right to not be owned by those we work for. We need to make it clear. The capitalist and corporatist economic elite don't own us or our government, we own them, because if not for us they would be nothing.
We must bring this message of economic and social freedom to the forefront. We must reach out to fellow workers union and non union, that if we, meaning all of us fail to win the fight for freedom, we might as well call it a day. Our future, and our childrens future depends on it.
