Just for egotistical reasons, perhaps, the GOP members don't mind seeing their minions hit the streets and do a bit of yelling.
But they don't really care about much of it, since it's mostly astroturfed. The diary at the top of the rec list right now is well done , and lays out the various astroturfing groups.
[Isn't it ridiculous to hear anti-semites yell about George Soros as the imaginary boogeyman. As usual, it's a winger projection of the very own evil backing them- Kochs, to be precise. Everything I've heard about those d*cks the last few months is oily (Literally). ]
But I digress. After reading this AP story, you realize: they don't care if they're outnumbered. Is it a bluff? These days one can rarely doubt the extremism that can come from the modern Republican establishment.

First off, look at the title of the story: "LARGEST PROTEST YET FAILS TO SWAY WISCONSIN LAWMAKERS".
Are they bluffing? I don't know. Does a snake bite?
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, said the crowds that have gotten bigger each day have yet to win over any member of his caucus.
"What they're getting from individuals back home is stick to your guns, don't let them get to you," Fitzgerald said. "Every senator I've spoken to today is getting that back home, which is awesome. It's great to hear from people who are part of a rally ... (but) two people you meet at a fish fry or a person who comes up to you at a basketball game, those comments sink in."
If I was in a room with you other fine folks, or on a stage, or on a phone, or talking in any shape or form, here is what I would say to you......
"Fish fry?????"
That's all I can say. Two people at a fish fry are more significant than tens of thousands at a rally? I cannot heap enough scorn on that. I'd need a late-night talk show desk just to get started, a SNL cast to really warm up, and a nice healthy round of RECALL to git 'er done!

Moving on:
"The people who are not around the Capitol square are with us," said Rep. Robin Vos, a Republican from Rochester and co-chair of the Legislature's budget committee. "They may have a bunch around the square, but we've got the rest on our side."
So in other words, it doesn't matter that the other side is a CLEAR DOMINANT MAJORITY? I guess folks living in a "democracy" wouldn't care about majorities, or even math for that matter. Good job, guys.
A lone demonstrator stood between the crowds, saying nothing and holding a sign: "I'm praying that we can all respect each other. Let's try to understand each other."
As Colbert would say...I give a tip of my hat to this lone protester with a sign, and the attempt at civility. You could even call it a gesture towards a Return to Sanity? AND NOT BAD TIMING WITH THE TEA PARTY COMING TO TOWN ON THE TEA PARTY EXPRESS TRAIN! (do they still have that train? koch brothers got enough coal and oil to run it, surely!)
But a WAG of the finger to this sign holder, for expecting civility from the tea party. Don't disrespect the tea party like that! If you start respecting those damn liberals, then YOU MIGHT ONE DAY BECOME ONE!.
Moving on.
Walker, who was spending time with his family Saturday and didn't appear in public, also rejected the Democrats offer. His spokesman, Cullen Werwie, said the fastest way to end the stalemate was for Democrats to return and "do their jobs."
Do their jobs? You mean like how John Bo(eh)ner does his job?
Get the f*ck outta herrreeeeeeee...........
