First let me say to a lot of people, I'm sorry if I got taken in. I thought that once the protesters got to Green Square, that would be it. That's how it was talked up throughout, that Green Square was the center of the regime.
Now, Gaddafi's son has gone on TV with a crazy speech that lasted almost an hour. And since then, we're getting tweets about major killing in Tripoli.
This is a complex situation. In some ways, it's true that the regime is fallen. There are no more locations to march through at this moment. Gaddafi is not holed up in his palace. He may actually be out of the country. His son's speech was pre-recorded. They may all be out.
But apparently they can still order killings.
Also, there are tweets now indicating that the Werfalla tribe, which had been reported with the revolution, either faked everybody out or it was all a blind, and they are still with Gaddafi and attacking Tripoli.
So, with apologies for the flat champagne - the Libyan Revolution is still successful. They have overthrown Gaddafi. He is not in control of anything but - maybe - the Army, and not all of that because the units that rebelled in the East, no one has suggested they are not still helping the people.
But when you're a multi-billionaire, any crime against humanity that looks like getting your your power back is OK with you.
Anyway, I'm going to liveblog it for a while and maybe things will sort themselves out.
