From the " WTF " files comes this quote from Jim Beers, retired U.S Fish and Wildlife special agent:
“Fish and Wildlife doesn’t want to manage the land or the wildlife,” said Beers. “Once they started hiring women and minorities, the service went from managing the land and wildlife to saving all the animals and habitats.”
Still scratching your head over that one?
Yeah, me too.
So I decided to try to figure out who this Jim Beers dude is and I gotta say: He's a little bit, um, weird.
As wolves spread, there will be an outcry when Senator Claghorn’s 10 year-old golden retriever has her throat torn out inside her invisible fence as she looks for a place to urinate before coming in to bed. There will be an outcry when the elementary school kid in the snow or the high school athlete jogging through the woods, or the widow looking for her cat behind the shed, bump into and are harmed or worse by one or more wolves. Then Defenders and US Fish & Wildlife Service will say they are the state’s wolves, go to them. And people will.
Really, go read the whole thing and try to make sense of it. I simply can't.
And a few Google hits later, I get to the text of a speech he gave in Montana earlier this year, where he asserts that the Endangered Species Act is illegal and unconstitutional. Intriguing, no? Well, check it out. Really, really weird:
The Equal Employment Opportunity Act was passed and thus began the eventual elimination of educational requirements and quantifiable prerequisites for federal jobs like wildlife biologist, forester, range manager, and accountant. The need to “diversify” the federal workforce and the desire of federal managers to be promoted and rewarded for hiring, promoting, and transferring government-preferred groups based on sex or “race” was far-reaching. Eventually entrance exams and rankings for federal employment based on a test score, government-wide rankings, college grades, educational requirements, and work experience were eliminated. The thing to note here is that from this point forward, not only were “biologists”, “foresters”, and “range managers” increasingly less educated, less experienced, and less knowledgeable about biological “management” – new hires of all “races” and either sex could be and were increasingly ideologues opposed to animal use and ownership, wildlife management, forest management and use, range managements and use, rural lifestyles, ranching, farming, guns, fat in your diet, and state and local government jurisdiction. The best analogy would be to imagine a Defense Department after the prolonged hiring, promotion, and transfer of Conscientious Objectors who then hired and transferred others of their warrior persuasion ad infinitum.
So, there you have it folks. All your questions about wolf management have been answered: it's the womenfolk and "races" that are destroying our planet.
Now go forth, and if you are attacked my a wolf, blame the women and "races." It is their fault.
