A while back (on Dkos3) I requested feedback about a website, I got a lot of great responses. But sadly the site didn't really have legs, so I scrapped it. And decided to try again.
A little background: While I do IT work for a living now, it wasn't always so.. for a long time I was deeply involved in the food industry, cooking mostly. Its something I'm passionate about, so I decided to combine IT with Food..
I love social bookmarking sites, things like Digg and Reddit. There's always some site I don't know about that someone else has linked. And there's a plethora of food recipe sites out there. Some small, some big.
The issue I have with site like Digg and Reddit however are a lack of focus. they are large, noisy, and favor a more shotgun approach to things. A clean simple and focused site that not only combines a sharing of links WITH comments about a single large topic appeals to me.
Now there are sites out there.. like foodgawker, that approach this issue differently. Food is a very visual medium, so they link pictures to a recipe. But there's no real community, no comments, no sharing.
If Dkos has taught me anything its that community is in fact.. king.
So it pleases me to announce...
www.cooklinker.com
Now, its not perfect. I'm still ironing out one major bug (hit the coupon link at the top to see what it is) but its getting there.
What I'm asking is for folks to join, and test.. hit it.. make comments, poke around. there's only so much testing one person can do solo. Stay if you want, or leave that's fine :)
But if you can spare 15-20 minutes to join up, poke around.. take a look..
It would be a huge and major help!
Thanks in advance all!
