This is going to be a rather short diary...just wanted to get a couple updates out here that people may not be aware of....
First off, recall papers have been filed against some of the Democratic 14...by a group in Utah...see the link from the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board I have no idea how someone in Utah can recall a Wisconsin legislator...this does not pass the smell test to me.
Second, according to WISC-3 the State Senate voted today to withhold direct deposits to any Senator who misses two days of a Senate Session...they have to come to the Senate to pick up their checks...Why is it that when the Republicans do something like this...i.e. filibuster, they are considered heroic...and they should be on Mt. Rushmore...and when a Democrat does it, they are treated like children...
To which I have this to say to Governor Walker and the Fitzgerald brothers...(in the words of my late father) "Kiss my ass on the Capitol Square at high noon!"

Governor Walker is giving his "Fireside Chat" now...he is not a very good speaker, his teleprompter must be off to the side. as he cannot look into the camera. He claims he is not union busting...because he is leaving the ability to bargain over wages. I doubt anyone is buying his lie on that one. He is now going on about "high taxes" and how State Workers do not pay for their benefits. He is now going on about one teacher in Madison (a substitute) complained about schools being closed last week and how it was the unions fault. (He just cannot help himself from bashing unions.) He is still going on about the State Employee benefits...
Ahhhh....the collective bargaining system is broken...is what he says....and hear we go with union bashing once again. Now he is going on about teacher's health insurance...ugh...what a joke.
And now, he is talking about taxes..."We need to control government spending"
He just too a shot at the Wisconsin 14 and Governor Doyle...this man sickens me...and now he is going on about out of state protesters...and he is not talking about the Tea Party.
Another slam on the Wisconsin 14...threats to layoff state employees and local government employees if this bill is not passed. Lying about the state being broke, blaming other governors.
He is coming across as an arrogant ass who has no public speaking skills....
My opinion of his "Fireside Chat" - threats...

The Democratic response from Mark Miller D - Monona
Speaking of rights, looking around the room he is in...
Speaking about protecting the rights of Wisconsin workers and Wisconsin's labor history. Talking about the bill that Walker introduced and how it throws away years of legislation and how it was being acted on in four days.
He does seem nervous and looks tired.
Talking about how the state workers were willing to compromise, and how the governor rebuffed the offer even though it was a good compromise and how compromise is how a good democracy functions.
That is all.

After listening to the governor I feel that he is very arrogant...he does not seem to understand that the majority of Wisconsinites are against him. He is using empty threats of lay-offs and refuses to compromise...He is stating that out of state "rabble rousers" are speaking the loudest, which is a flat out lie...
