OK Kossacks, who was at one of the rallies today? Thoughts? Comments?
I was at the Boston rally. Already a good crowd when I got there at 3:30. I was packed in the front so I couldn't tell how big it eventually got, but seems we took over the street and buried the TP across the street.
I thought the speeches were good, and nicely short. The Gov. gave a great speech! I thought he articulated very passionately what this is all about: that we can get through these tough times without sacrificing working people.
I thought a couple speeches went overboard taunting the TP across the street. Why bother? We had 'em out numbered and outshouted.
I think that distracts from the main issue: protecting workers rights and the middle class. Why get into middle school tauntfest? We had them drowned out.
But the picture of them backed up against the memorial to Robert Gould Shaw and the Massachusetts 54th was beautiful. The irony of these clowns against a memorial to real freedom and diversity was priceless. Too bad they didn't turn around and take a good look at it. But, maybe I'm getting a bit middle schoolish.
Just my 2¢
You?
