From the "you can't make this stuff up" department--WorldNutDaily suggests that the reason Obama hasn't come down harder on Muammar al-Qaddafi is that he has longstanding ties to the Libyan dictator.
Gadhafi has been tied to Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's spiritual adviser for more than 23 years.
The Libyan dictator also has financed and strongly supported the Nation of Islam and its leader, Louis Farrakhan. Obama has ties to Farrakhan and his controversial group.
Oh please. Never mind that Obama cut all ties to Wright back in 2008. But then again, most of WND's readers wouldn't know that.
The rest of the article is a typical WND hit piece. Obama and several of his advisers are supposedly linked to Farrakhan, so therefore are linked to Qaddafi. At least that's how I'm reading this story. Circular reasoning, anyone?
Examples of these supposed ties (try not to laugh):
- Obama reportedly attended the Million Man March.
- Farrakhan frequently spoke at Trinity United Church of Christ.
- A 2004 picture has Michelle Obama and Khadijah Farrakhan together.
- David Axlerod sits on the finance committee of St. Sabina Catholic Church in Chicago, pastored by Michael Pfleger, supposedly a Farrakhan supporter.
For this and other reasons, in WND's reality, Obama is somehow in bed with Qaddafi. And this supposedly explains why we haven't taken unilateral action (read: military intervention) against Libya. Hmmm--now that couldn't be because our forces are spread too thin already no thanks to Iraq, now could it?
