Republican State Rep. Debbie "Terror Babies" Riddle, was caught red-handed in creating this ridiculous loophole for wealthy homeowners in an anti-immigration bill she authored. You see, Debbie Riddle's got an awesome deal for them---called the Laundry Loophole.
She's a staunch opponent of illegal immigration. Heck, she even made national news when she accused some immigrants of coming to our country to have children in order to have children that would one day grow up to be terrorists. Now Ms. Riddle has a plan to punish anyone who hires undocumented workers..........unless, of course, these wealthy homeowners hire them to work as domestic help.
Yep, you read that right. That's the infamous Laundry Loophole, which the Associated Press covered below:
Rep. Debbie Riddle, R-Houston, authored the bill that would penalize those who knowingly or recklessly hire or contract with an undocumented worker. But jobs like maids, landscapers and other domestic positions within a family home would be exempt.
Critics of the measure, filed earlier this month, say it exposes the hypocrisy of lawmakers who vow to crack down on illegal immigration but want to create a loophole for Americans benefitting from household services.
Back to Basics, a political group dedicated to holding politicians accountable, called the bill a "laundry loophole."
"That's not sensible immigration policy," the organization said in a news release. "It's indentured servitude."
That's right. The woman who brought us Terror Babies has a new plan: the Laundry Loophole. She wants to be tough on undocumented immigrants, just not on those who work as maids, cooks, drivers, and landscapers in private residences.
Under legislation Ms. Riddle is proposing, the state will crack down hard on employers who hire undocumented workers -- with the exception of one worker for "domestic services" per household. Was this what she was talking about when she said, "they want the entitlements to keep coming?"
Debbie Riddle---you've got to be kidding with the Laundry Loophole!
