Today at noon about 350 people gathered in the cold on the steps of the Nebraska state capital building and stood in solidarity with our neighbors to the north in Wisconsin.
Union members and supporters, who simply believe in and hope for justice and democracy to prevail for the workers in Wisconsin.
(DKOS4) was giving fits last night trying to get this diary edited, and some of my edits seemed to disappear in the published version, I just fixed this and now the diary is complete. Whatever problems there were seems fixed and DKOS is behaving again thankfully!
Here are some pictures!
The Nebraska Capital Building.
The Rally from the East Side, about 350 folks were there.
Looking from the North.
The View from the steps behind the speakers podium.
The view from the rally crowd.
The reason we were all there today!!!
I believe this rally was prompted by the folks at Moveon.org, but was really put together and supported by a great many folks from other organizations.
Here is a list of the ones that had members supporting the rally today.
Bold Nebraska, Lancaster County Democrats, Nebraska Democratic Party, IBEW,
IWW, ACT, IAFF, and I am sure there were more I missed.
While we had 350 happy, fired up folks, braving the cold and happy to do so
In support of the people in Wisconsin.
The tea baggers showed up in a tiny and quiet number of no more than 30.
Which dwindled down to a single dozen after the first hour.
We made the local paper and TV news.
