Severe Weather Liveblog is a collective effort to keep Kossacks safe when a large severe weather outbreak takes place. These blogs will be posted as needed, based on user-interaction (comments) and duration of the severe weather event.
If you have emergency information that needs to be added to the diary (reports of tornadoes on the ground, emergency information telephone numbers, etc.), please indicate so in the subject line of the comment.
Right now, aside from myself, the editors of Severe Weather Liveblog are boatsie and Predictor. If you'd like to help, drop me a message.
Please keep in mind that any Severe Weather Liveblogs posted are not places for tasteless cracks at other people's expense. Post cheap political/social shots towards those affected at your own risk.
The worst weather right now is focused over the Kansas/Missouri state line, where an area of severe thunderstorms is moving into Kansas City after leaving (quite a large) dent on eastern Kansas. Click the image below for information regarding the tornado outbreak today, tonight and tomorrow. Instead of doing the copy/paste number in every one of these liveblogs, I'm just going to save the whole space for updates. Keep checking back as I'll update this frequently over the next few hours. I plan on posting a new diary every 2-3 hours to keep up visibility and to make it easier to read and follow (clutter is bad, mmkay?).

Updates
UPDATE 1: (435PM CST)
Our first tornado warning of the night has been issued for a storm in Tennessee. Radar has detected strong rotation in this storm, which is moving east at 50 MPH. Cheatham, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys and Montgomery Counties in Tennessee are under the warning.
Off to the west in Kansas, there have been several reports of golfball sized hail with a thunderstorm that is now near Kansas City, and thankfully now below severe limits. The same thunderstorm has caused flash flooding in Lawrence, KS according to law enforcement, prompting a flash flood warning for Douglas and Franklin Counties in KS.
UPDATE 2: (445PM CST)
New tornado watch up for northern Tennessee and southern Kentucky, right where the tornado warning was issued. Watches above updated to reflect the shiny new watch.
UPDATE 3: (449PM CST)
Things are really blowing up now...three more severe thunderstorm warnings issued:
Grant County OK -- Severe T'storm Warning -- Quarter sized hail & 60 MPH winds -- Expires 515PM CST
Then we have this storm approaching the City and suburbs of Wichita, KS, which was hit with damaging winds just a few hours ago in another thunderstorm complex. The warning goes until 530PM CST and is up for 60MPH winds and potential hail.
UPDATE 4: (454PM CST)
And before I have a chance to breathe from the last update, the thunderstorm complex responsible for the wind damage in Wichita a few hours ago and the golfball sized hail near Richmond, KS has turned severe again.
This warning is up until 515PM CST for a few counties southeast of Kansas City, MO.
UPDATE 5: (509PM CST)
The SPC is about to issue a tornado watch over northern Arkansas and southern Missouri.
Also, the tornado warning in Tennessee northwest of Nashville has been allowed to expire, as the storm has weakened below severe limits. No reports of tornadoes or damage from that storm yet.
UPDATE 6: (520PM CST)
New severe thunderstorm watch about to go up in northern Missouri north of St. Louis for large hail potential:
UPDATE 7: (528PM CST)
That nasty storm approaching the Wichita area seems to have spared downtown, but it is continuing its severe march towards the northeast. NWS reports that quarter sized hail has fallen from this storm.
UPDATE 8: (549PM CST)
Tornado warning for Kay County, OK until 615PM:
Also updated the watches to add the new severe thunderstorm watch across northern Missouri.
