I tend to despise Facebook memes and sometimes mock them ("people every day are attacked by Reavers. If you know someone who has been attacked by a horde of marauding Reavers, please update your status to...").
However, this is one I can get behind. Here's the status I just posted:
"A public union employee, a tea party activist, and a CEO are sitting at a table with a plate of a dozen cookies in the middle of it.
The CEO takes 11 cookies, turns to the tea partier and says, 'Watch out for that union guy. He wants a piece of your cookie.' "
I don't know where it originated (if anyone does, please update me). I found it from a friend and it's been making the rounds.
What I like about this in particular is the its simplicity-- it takes a complex issue and puts it into fairly direct terms which are easy to understand. It also isn't the kind of whiny "please update your status if...?" thing as much as it is just something funny that people will get.

Thanks to Lefty Coaster, I have a source-- the original comment comes from Miles Cobbett. My version is almost identical to his but with a single word changed (I liked saying "a" dozen eggs better than "one" dozen eggs).

This is why I long ago gave up trying to figure out how to write something that would make the rec list :)
