NATO apologizes for killing 9 Afghan civilians. . . Local officials say nine boys, ages 12 and under, were killed as they were gathering firewood. . .Top NATO commander Gen. David Petraeus said the coalition was "deeply sorry" for the tragedy. . .
Would "deeply sorry" cut it if these were American children? If they were
your children?
These are just nine more names in a long list of innocent people we have killed in Afghanistan, all in the name making us safer. We have been in Afghanistan for over nine years, and I still have not heard a coherant plan for victory, or even a realistic description of what victory would look like. All we do is continue to make more enemies. Now we can add the families of nine children to that list. It has to stop.
