Last week Mike Huckabee took a lot of criticism for making this bigoted statement slurring Muslims:
Mike Huckabee Keeps Up Criticism of Islam in America
Appearing on a Fox News show over the weekend, Huckabee also took aim at Islam as he criticized two Protestant churches that allowed Muslims to worship in their facilities when mosques in the area were too small or under construction.
"If the purpose of a church is to push forward the gospel of Jesus Christ, and then you have a Muslim group that says that Jesus Christ and all the people that follow him are a bunch of infidels who should be essentially obliterated, I have a hard time understanding that," Huckabee, a Fox host, said while he was a guest on "Fox & Friends." "I mean if a church is nothing more than a facility and a meeting place free for any and all viewpoints, without regard to what it is, then should the church be rented out to show adult movies on the weekend?"
Here's Mike Huckabee's latest bigoted statement against Muslims from Bryan Fischer's radio show today:
Now Huckabee's making this ugly
Appearing on the radio show of Bryan Fischer, a prominent social conservative, Huckabee again played the victim, pretending that he was being unfairly targeted for simply "misspeaking." But then he took it a step further. Prompted by Fischer to comment on the "fundamentally anti-American ideas" that may have been planted in Obama's head by his "virulently anti-colonial father," Huckabee said (emphasis mine):
And I have said many times, publicly, that I do think he has a different worldview and I think it is, in part, molded out of a very different experience. Most of us grew up going to Boy Scout meetings and, you know, our communities were filled with Rotary Clubs, not madrassas.
There's no other word for this comment but "ugly." And it exposes a side of Huckabee that doesn't often get much attention: his backward attitude toward Arabs and Muslims.
In 2008 Huckabee said he wants "to change the Constitution so its in God's standards."
Mike Huckabee is a anti-Muslim Religious Bigot, he is wildly misinformed, and he thinks Obama is probably a U.S. citizen. All three things are big pluses to the Right Wing of the Republican Party. Huckabee is using hate and myths to appeal to the Tea Party crowd as part of a deliberate campaign strategy IMHO.
