To everyone, everywhere... keep pushing, keep donating, keep pushing for the truth.
Because they are losing. Even here in a complacent middle of America red state.
The Republican party has gone all out, full on, loaded up with Koch tear down the middle class, and main street is finally waking up to see it.
I have pictures and more after the jump.
Today here in Lincoln Nebraska, the Koch Brothers funded PAC "Americans For Prosperity" held a rally to push for the elimination of public union bargaining rights.
It did not turn out well....
Yes it was a cold crappy day... and they got all of about 75 people to come out to hear the two hardest right tea bagger GOP candidates who are running against Senator Ben Nelson, rant about the evils of public unions.
That's right, 75 people showed up to support them in their grand mistake.
Here are two pictures of it, I took as I drove by 10 minutes after it started to check the crowd size.
Now, compare their tiny gathering with the following pictures from the Rally held by the people of Nebraska this last Saturday, organized by Moveon.org and numerous democratic organizations, (and also just a lot of people that simply support decency
for union workers) this was our solidarity rally with our fellow citizens in Wisconsin.
I put up a photo diary about it here... Nebraska stands with Wisconsin
In our rally of over 350 people we completely covered the steps and had folks standing all the way out into the edge of the street. On another cold crappy day.
The AFP rally was WELL PUBLICIZED days in advance and had the GOP's two supposed heavy hitter candidates there as speakers. State Treasurer Don Stenberg and State Attorney General John Bruning. Both of which are candidates to run against our Democratic Senator Ben Nelson this cycle.
and STILL they got only 75 people in a red state, in Nebraska?
Perhaps the answer lies in the stories and comments of the local paper here....
Journal Star story and comments 1
or this one
Journal Star story and comments 2
Usually here locally the comments in the Journal star run two to one for conservative
comments. Not anymore, folks are coming out and seriously pushing back hard on the idea of taking away workers bargaining rights, and demonizing local workers.
Right now comments are running 10 to 1 in support or unions!!!!!
It is quite frankly very nice to see.
Keep it up... Those that serve corporate masters and those that would throw their neighbors under the AFP bus are losing.
Even here.
And hopefully everywhere.
