Thought I'd throw this bucket out there for those weekend observers out there. As always, the graf from Mark:
The Daily Bucket is a place to catch your casual observations of the natural world and turn them into a valuable resource. Whether it's the first flowers of spring, or that odd bug in your basement, don't be afraid to toss your thoughts into the bucket. Check here for a more complete description.
More below the fold...
And when posting your thoughts, observations, etc. please note your location (approximate or exact) for Mark's map. Thanks!
My observations for the day:
Here in southern Pennsylvania (or southcentral PA, as we like to call it), winter is still hanging around. We'll have overcast skies and rain the the next two days, but spring is coming: the hyacinths in my smalltown backyard are poking through the soil and I suspect the tulips will be coming soon. New buds are forming on the rose bush and lilac. Birds are singing and the squireels are a little more active (I detemrine their activity level by the numbe rof holes in the lawn of my backyard). Today will be a day of pruning, as the trees in my yard desperately need it.
What is happening in your neck of the woods? (I live outside Hershey, Pennsylvania [Chocolatetown USA!] in the small town of Hummelstown).
